Drawspace Challenge 10

Enjoyed doing some pastel. I like the way it turned out although not nearly as bright as the original picture.

A Day in My Life in 12 Frames

This was so much fun. I am so glad I ran across this on Jeanette Jobson's Blog.

I noticed there were several other's with the same problem as mine - a talkative cat! My Siamese talks all of the time and sometimes almost drives me crazy. We actually talk together quite often but I do wish, especially in the mornings that she could settle down. The first pic is Mitzu trying to get my attention.
The second frame should actually be the closeup of Mitzu because she will not leave me alone until I feed her some canned cat food!
The second frame is my time for coffee and morning devotions before getting ready for school.
The fourth frame is school.
Then, my classroom with painting.
Then lunch time.
Then pottery.
Then home to my front door.
I then sit and read the paper and mail, do the crossword and sudoku (while fixing supper -next frame).
Then, of course, dishes to do.
Then bedtime once more.
Of course there could be many more frames for my entire day but I had fun picking and choosing what to draw.

This really was an enjoyable project.
Thanks again to Jeanette for the inspiration.

Drawspace Challenge 9

I put more time on this drawing then previous ones. There was so much detail and even now I have lost a great deal of it!

My latest. . .

I do love value and nature!

More Drawspace

Drawspace is such a great place to just be a part of the art world. You can do or not do whatever you like. If you want you can just sit back and enjoy all of the other artist's work, or you can include your own and learn from the feedback. I have really enjoyed taking up the Challenge drawing because it has made me draw for myself rather than just working on pieces for school. It's GREAT!!
I have already published these on Drawspace but thought I might as well include in my own blog for those who don't participate elsewhere.

Latest Drawspace pic. . .

I chose to draw this picture, too, because it reminded me of my own dachshund that I grew up with. Her name was Inga. Even though she was black and tan (and this one is red), in black and white you really can't tell so she looks somewhat like Inga.

Another Drawspace Challenge. . .

I had fun with this one. 30 minute drawing.

New drawing for Drawspace

This was the cutest little girl given to us as a reference photo for this week's drawing challenge. I couldn't resist drawing her although it took more time than I really had to give.

Drawspace Challenge

I decided to take on one of the challenges from Drawspace but added my own difficulty in that I gave myself only 1 hour to work on it. It lacks some of the detail which I would normally never lose but I enjoyed the process.

Art Studies

I drew these following a study of Hopper. I really like his work with architecture and shadow. I am also inspired by Caravaggio's work with shadows.

Illustration Drawings

Hidden Dream

Dragon Field

Garden Faerie

This drawing began as a small sketch I did at the lake. (shown above)

Deer

This is one of my many quick drawings for examples for teaching.
My husband liked this one, too, so it is now framed and hanging. I really need to do some paintings for him! Poor guy!

Turkey anyone?

This drawing was a very quick, sketchy drawing I did on the back of a placemat at a dinner I went to with my husband. He liked it so much he asked me to frame it. I did and it hangs on our living room wall, along with the deer above.

Portraits

This is my cancer Doctor and her husband. I did this as one of approximately 45 portrait drawings while sitting in the hospitals and cancer center having chemo and amphoterocin B.

This was a large commissioned drawing that was fun to do. The wife gave me pictures of herself, her husband and their two children all at the age of three and I put them all together on one drawing. She gave it to her husband for Christmas.
I have done several commissioned pieces-will try to post more at a later time.

Older Drawings

These are the very first drawings I did before I had any classes in art. I was actually self taught before returning to college at the ripe old age of 35.
