We were at the lake this weekend (Memorial) and I had several hours off and on with nothing to do. I had forgotten to take my sketch book so went to town and bought a package of printer paper. These sketches are what I ended up with in between playing with my grandkids, fishing, eating and general running around. :)

This was a fun challenge (well, sort of challenge).. I drew this flower with each hand, one with the left and one with the right. I am right handed. I spent the same amount of time on each so that I could see the difference between the two. It is obvious which is my dominant hand but I didn't think the left handed drawing was too bad.

My daughter always has me decorate all of the luminaries that she sells for the Relay for Life. Of course, many of them are bought by family including my husband and my daughter. It is always fun to decorate them.

Drawspace is such a great place to just be a part of the art world. You can do or not do whatever you like. If you want you can just sit back and enjoy all of the other artist's work, or you can include your own and learn from the feedback. I have really enjoyed taking up the Challenge drawing because it has made me draw for myself rather than just working on pieces for school. It's GREAT!!I

I chose to draw this picture, too, because it reminded me of my own dachshund that I grew up with. Her name was Inga. Even though she was black and tan (and this one is red), in black and white you really can't tell so she looks somewhat like Inga.

I decided to take on one of the challenges from Drawspace but added my own difficulty in that I gave myself only 1 hour to work on it. It lacks some of the detail which I would normally never lose but I enjoyed the process.
